   BACK TO THE BASE

I decided that if I wanted to succeed in starting my business on internet, I had to forget (for this moment) everything I have studied and read. I had to go back to the reason why I started this research:
Finding a way to earn a decent living with my knowledge, my experience and my ideas.

Internet could be a very useful road (with great potentials) to realise my wish, but it's only one of the roads to explore. There are also many possibilities offline to earn your money with the same products you want to sell on internet. Internet can also be used as just one of your marketing instruments, instead of being the business itself.
Whatever strategy you will choose, you need a website to attract attention for your business, and your products and services. Nowadays, a website is always needed, no matter where you want to find your customers, online or offline. So, I decided to start there, and I wanted to make a fresh start as if I had done and studied nothing yet.

Step 1
First of all, I brought back my mails from about 250 a day, to 10 - 30 mails a day, by unsubscribing myself at the websites of many marketers and giveaways. What stayed were the mails of integer businesses and persons, who offer real content, useful information and good products. All hysterical shouting people disappeared, as well as people who offered no real content.
What a relief! Silence in my mailbox, hardly trash anymore. And suddenly, I had so much time left to do the thing I should do: Building my business.

Step 2
My second step was to clean my computer from everything that was not really useful for me, downloaded at the Giveaways and through emails of marketers. I won a lot of space on my and it became much easier to find the right documents and software.

Step 3
My third step was to review my business plan very critical. Was is it a realistic plan? Did I plan my steps in the right order, and at the right time? Did I want to realise too much in too short time, or even at the same time? Did I need to plan more stepping stones? Did I need to calculate more time for each step? Etceteras, etceteras.
The result of this review was that my plan for starting an internet business was simplified.
Many ideas I want to realise are placed on a waiting list now. Although I was rather far with the preparation, it is not possible to do everything at the same time. So, it has to wait.

Step 4
My fourth step came forward from the conclusion of the review of my business plans; I had to change my website completely. In fact, I had to rebuild it totally because I cannot not present everything I want to do, now and in the future. My “waiting list” had to be skipped from my navigation bar, to mention just one thing. I will start with less products than I had planned in my first business plan and that had a lot of consequences for my website.
So, I started all over again, finishing each time one part completely before I start to work on another part. The same counts for the products I want to offer on my website; first finishing one product before I start with the next one.
